2001 was a most pivotal year. That’s when our founder, Kane Mar, first trained under Ken Schwaber, the co-founder of Scrum. The experience altered Kane’s product management style and gave him an exciting new direction. It set him on the road to promoting and, eventually, training and lecturing in Scrum, himself.
In 2009, he established Scrumology, and started delivering Scrum and Agile training and coaching to businesses across the Asia Pacific, transforming employees into high-performance agile development teams.
Now, nearly a decade on, we’re one of the most experienced Scrum and Agile Training firms in the Southern Hemisphere, with a client list boasting major brands including Microsoft, Oracle, Capital One Financial, Nationwide Insurance, Getty Images, Sony and Expedia.
Our values, like Scrum’s, are openness, focus, commitment and respect. When we train developers, we instruct them, mentor them and they don’t experience it as an outsider imposing and demanding change. They experience training from an ally or advisor. Because that is exactly we we aim to be.

About Kane Mar
Kane Mar is Scrumology’s co-founder and principal consultant. A software developer since 1990, he’s been an agile specialist since 2001, and a professional Scrum coach and trainer since 2006.
He has studied and worked with the co-creator of Scrum, Ken Schwaber, and was one of the first people in the world to achieve the rigorous Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Trainer accreditations.
Kane is now widely regarded as one of the world’s best and most experienced exponents of Scrum. He speaks on Scrum and agile all around the world, and has trained and coached countless organisations in the use of Scrum to deliver high quality products, predictably and repeatedly.
Kane employs a particularly collaborative approach in his training and consultation. He engages closely with both teams and managers to ensure he introduces the requisite technical practices and changes in a real-world manner. One that aligns with the organisation’s culture and goals, and which can be applied long-term to any software project.
About Laura Brooks
Laura Brooks is an experienced Executive Assistant having worked at senior level in ASX listed companies, small and medium businesses and government, both in Australia and globally, for over 15 years.
In previous roles Laura particularly enjoyed working with forward thinking companies who used Scrum and Agile methodology and it was something that interested Laura to get more involved in. Laura has undertaken Scrum Master training with Kane and can assist clients with any queries on the training. Laura works closely with Kane on the day-to-day running and organisation of the business.
